The Instructional Technology and Information Services (ITIS) Department is responsible for providing the manpower and material resources required to implement, expand and maintain an exemplary technology education program in all schools. Technology has successfully been integrated into the curriculum in all subject areas throughout the district and is employed in staff development and parent involvement programs as well. Within each school, the Media specialists and the Technology teachers work cooperatively using state of the art technology in their libraries and labs. Their goal is to instruct students and teachers alike in 21st century research techniques and how to use the technology available to improve their work.
The ITIS group also has responsibility for all the test scoring and data within the district as well as transmitting the data to our local BOCES, New York State and the Federal Government. This data is what is used to determine the NYS Report Card for the school district as well as satisfying the requirements of the Federal Mandate "No Child Left Behind".
The department is responsible for the purchasing, configuring, installation, maintenance, and upgrading of all file servers, web sites, computers, printers, networking equipment , video surveillance, wireless communications devices and telephony equipment in use throughout all district facilities. These locations include the six local school sites, the two remote school sites and the Administration Complex.
